The home of the Royal Bengal Tiger, located in the land of royalty! What more could you have asked for from a tiger safari vacation that so expertly combines India’s warm hospitality and diverse cultural experiences with the country’s many wildlife opportunities? The Ranthambore National Park was once used as hunting grounds for the Maharaja, but it has now been transformed into a thriving wildlife destination that attracts visitors from all over the world. Because of its location in the middle of a convenient intersection known as the Golden Triangle, it is the ideal place to visit if you want to combine a tour of India’s cultural and historical attractions with breathtaking views of the country’s wildlife.
The terrain itself is particularly intriguing due to the presence of a number of huge lakes that serve as sources of water and food for the various species of animals that call this area home. The Savannah grasslands also serve as good hunting grounds for the larger Ungulates. The Park was once used as a hunting ground by the Maharajas of Jaipur, and the presence of its historic Forts and outposts in the area contributes to the park’s distinct character.

Day 03-04: Ranthambhore National Park
Jeep tours of the park in the morning and the afternoon are available. The lodge provides the meals. Spend the night in the hotel that’s located in Ranthambhore.
Ranthambhore is spread across a region that is 400 square kilometres in size. This park is over a thousand years old and encompasses rocky hill crests that descend to open valleys between the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges. It is dotted with water pools and fruit trees and spans over kilometres. It gets its name from the fortress that sits atop the hill that overlooks the forest. Ranthambhore is a unique and remarkable place where the natural present coexists with the historical past. It is most known for the diurnal activity of tigers, which may be seen there. In these areas, the sambar, cheetal, chinkara, nilgai, and langur are the most common types of wildlife. Leopards and tigers, both of which are notoriously difficult to spot, can be found in this reserve, and visitors who go on tiger safaris have a very good chance of getting a good look at tigers up close.
In Ranthambhore, visitors have the opportunity to view around 300 different species of birds. This diversity contributes to the park’s overall richness. In point of fact, those who are passionate about bird watching will find Ranthambhore and the surrounding area to be a veritable paradise. The Great Cormorant, the Painted Spurfowl, the Sarus Crane, the Bronzed Winged Jacana, Sandpipers, Kingfishers, Nightjars, Painted Sandgrouse, and the Indian Eagle Owl are some of the more interesting resident bird species. In the winter, many other migratory bird species that nest north of the Himalayas also arrive to spend the winter in this region.
These crumbling remnants of previous greatness, which may be found strewn throughout the landscape and can take the form of chatris or cupolas like those found on palaces or old guard stations, all contribute to the otherworldly and magical feel of this expansive wilderness.
