Nature Safari India organized our private 2 Weeks Safari in Central India plus a couple of Sightseeing and we are very happy to having choose this agency. I found them on the responsible tiger tourism association (TOFTigers) and I liked them from the very first contact. From the first email more than two years ago to the end of our trip in April 2022, the service was great, the selection of the itinerary, Parks, lodges and guides was perfect. And this although the very difficult travel situation due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our trip had to be postponed and rescheduled twice (we were supposed to travel at the end of March 2020), Mr. Deepkul was always very professional, competent, responsive and helpful with all my requests and he went the extra mile. We had a wonderful time in India, we saw a lot of tigers and wildlife, and we hope to come back soon. We warmly recommend Nature Safari India to everyone and in the future, we’ll surely book another tour with them.

We did 5 days of safaris with Sharad Vats's team, in Kanga and Pench, in April 2022. Right from the planning to the actual execution, Sharad was accessible, knowledgeable and helpful, to ensure we got a good experience. Not only was the itinerary planned and tweaked multiple times to suit us, but our accommodation and food needs were also taken care of well. We enjoyed the trip immensely, especially because Sharas understood that we were not just after tiger sightings, but enjoyed birds and trees and other wildlife too, and recommended an itinerary accordingly. The accommodation and food was great. And my particular need of a wifi connection even in these remote areas (because there was a study commitment I could not miss) was also met. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing and totally unforgettable trip to India organised by Nature Safari India, in particular Deepkul (and previously Manjeet). I organised the trip 2 years ago just as the pandemic hit, I had been communicating with Nature Safari India constantly for quite a few months until we finalised on an itinerary, nothing was too much trouble and replies to queries were almost instant. When it came to the actual holiday, all we had to do was get to New Delhi. (As a warning it isn't straightforward to get visas anymore) From then on all was taken care of. We were met at the airport and were looked after from that point, including checking us into the hotel and providing a car and driver for our exclusive use until we left New Delhi. We were driven from each location by drivers who looked after us incredibly well, stopped/slowed down if we wanted to take pictures, they also pointed out interesting sites as we passed. If you have time, I would recommend travelling by car to different locations, as you see a lot more of India. Deepkul monitored us through our whole holiday, checking that we were OK, getting reports from each of our guides and making sure we were happy with our holiday. Our guides and drivers, throughout, were fantastic, so friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and polite.

Day 10: Bandhavgarh – Khajuraho (Drive 280 kms/06-hours)

Drive to Khajuraho in the afternoon following a morning jeep safari in the national park. After you get there, check into the hotel. Get ready for a tour of Khajuraho’s sights after some time has passed.

This by-chance-discovered city of Khajuraho is now India’s second most popular tourist destination. Khajuraho is home to the largest concentration of temples from the Middle Ages, all of which are lavishly decorated with sculptures of exceptional grace and delicacy that honour the stylized and refined achievements of the court in matters of love, beauty, and the arts. The temples in this city, which served as the spiritual centre of the Chandela Rajputs, were built between 950 and 1050 AD. Each of the eight gates is framed by two golden palm trees, and the entire area is enclosed by a wall. Only 22 of the original 80 temples are remarkably still standing.

When compared to other Hindu temples, the group of temples at Khajuraho that celebrates Hindu religious thinking in its baffling range of breadth and inclusiveness distinguishes out. The worship of Yoga and Bhoga in religious temples is a manifestation of the existential ethos of those faiths. “Yoga” refers to spiritual unity with the Divine, while “Bhoga” refers to the attainment of spiritual bliss through sensual indulgence.

The Khajuraho temples testify to this idea with their emphasis on sensual love and worship. India’s gift to the world, Khajuraho’s temples were designated a World Heritage Site in 1986 and are now a popular tourist attraction. The evening Khajuraho Sound and Light Show. Stay the night at the Khajuraho hotel.

Day 11: Khajuraho – Varanasi (Drive 200 kms/4 hours + flight)

The Chaturbhuj temple is part of the Southern group, and the Shiva temple at Kandariya Mahadev is also worth a trip.

Transfer in the afternoon to the airport for the trip to Varanasi. Arrivals at the Varanasi airport are greeted and assisted, and guests are taken on a short ride to their accommodation.

Varanasi is the holiest city in Hinduism and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in all of India. One of the world’s oldest inhabited cities, Varanasi (also spelled Kashi and Benaras) has been a major intellectual and cultural hub for more than two millennia.

Evening Ganges River boat ride. The cultural ethos that directs the lives of the devout can be felt all around you as you ride along on this intriguing excursion. Check out the ablutions in the river and the sunset ceremonies. Some boats will be transporting things like fruits and vegetables down the river, while others will be carrying the religious people who will be participating in rites along the riverbanks.

Some people are engaged in prayer and the chanting of hymns on the ghats, while others are engaged in trade, and yet others are providing services like hair cutting, massages, and ear cleaning. Visit the Manikarnika Ghat to see the rite of cremation, the procedure of transporting the soul of the departed to the sky. According to Hindu belief, if one’s final trip on earth begins and ends in the holy city of Varanasi, the soul will be able to reincarnate “in a higher state.” Varanasi is where you should stay for the night.

You should also check out Sarnath while you’re in Uttar Pradesh, India; it’s about 13 kilometres north-east of Varanasi, at the point where the Ganges and Gomati rivers meet. The enlightenment of Kondanna established the Buddhist Sangha at the deer park in Sarnath, where Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon on the Dharma. Shreyansanath, the twelfth Jain Tirthankara, was born in the nearby village of Singhpur, which also contains a temple honouring him.
